Your driving down the freeway, then *BAM*, you have a blown tire. If your like every other person that owns a car, the first thing that comes to your mind is 'more expenses'.Now of course you have your options with tires but for the most part there are 4 well known stores one would likely go to being Discount Tire, Pep Boys, Goodyear, and Big O Tires."
Big O tires, this particular one I would like to mention today. If you have not had any problems with them, then answer this question, 'Are you paying a fair price?' I only mention this because about 3 weeks ago my back right tire consistently would go flat over night and was finally at the point of no return. The closest tire shop to me at that moment was Big O Tires located just up the street on Rural and Broadway in Phoenix Arizona.
The first I explained was that I knew I needed all new tires, it had been a descent amount of time, that I was very low on money so I only would be able to purchase two tires, and the lowest priced tires for my car. As I waited a goof hour or so, I had 2 different employees speak with me. The first conversation was about how I must purchase 4 tires (same fella I previously spoke too), the second conversation was about my brakes and routers, which needed to be done all around but most importantly the front (the front was quoted at $240, which I kindly said I couldn't afford), the third employee at Big O Tires must have thought I was just plain stupid because he felt as if all the information needed to be repeated.
I was already disgusted with this experience at Big O Tires, but would let it go being the fact men believe females don't understand a lot about vehicles. When it came time to pay my bill the total was $184 and some change. This was very pricey considering the tires averaged $40 on the Internet. 'They don't always have certain tires in stock' I was explained. The bill was payed and I moved on knowing I wouldn't be spending my dollars with Big O Tires anymore.
This is where my decision was final.... I had the front brakes and routers changed totaling $170 at a local shop ($70 cheaper) that same day. To make matters more disturbing over the weekend I had another blown tire which wasn't a huge surprise since they needed to be replaced. I didn't feel like going to a tire store so my boyfriend took my car and decided to go to the same Big O Tires location. All in All I was basically robbed, same tires and services totaling him $143 and change. (That's $41.00 savings and no hassle) Once mentioned they said sorry nothing they could do because the website prices change daily and he didn't even know the special.
In conclusion, I will never recommend BIG O TIRES to anyone! Big O Tires does NOT change the ads daily, this was the same ad from 3 weeks ago! Finally if you are a BIG O TIRES shopper check your receipt, because you may just be over paying!
